Bayside Forum is a friendly, supportive group that meets twice a month in the Wynnum-Manly area. The aim of our meetings is to improve confidence and communication skills. Members learn and practise public speaking, how meetings run, the roles and duties of office bearers and workshop facilitation. Feel free to contact us if you would like to learn new skills, enhance your abilities and meet new people. Visitors are always welcome.

Meetings
Bayside Forum meets at 7pm on 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month.
Meetings are usually held at the Wynnum Library from 7-8.30pm followed by supper
145 Florence St, Wynnum QLD 4178 (above Woolworths – take the lift!).

10th July 2024
Speeches to the title A New Beginning will be featured tonight. Our main speaker is Ben and all other members are welcome to speak to the same title for up to 5 minutes.
A learning segment will also be included on tonight’s program.
24th July 2024
Tonight’s main speaker is Kate, speaking to the title ‘Scandals’. All other members are invited to speak to the same title.
We will also have a special segment titled ‘Who Owns the Object’ which will be a lot of fun.
7th August 2024
We are having a special presentation tonight, with 3 speakers presenting 3 different perspectives on the concept of ‘Making Movies’. This will be followed by an entertaining quiz for all to participate in, and an impromptu segment for all to practice their ‘spur of the moment’ speaking.
28th August 2024
Tonight we are learning the art of interviewing, with our member Tania leading the way. All members are invited to participate in this segment.
7-8th September 2024 Saturday & Sunday
Forum’s JOURNEY TO SUCCESS Convention is on this weekend in Redlands City and is open for all to attend.
Saturday morning admission is free of charge and features the following acclaimed speakers:

* Cr Paul Bishop (currently a Redland City Councillor – Division 10 & is also an experienced actor)
* Suzie Tafolo (President, Redland Chamber of Commerce)

* Kurek Ashley (International Keynote Speaker & Success Coach)
11th September 2024
Members will be debating current important issues, with Ben leading the evening with his examination of the housing crisis faced by so many in our community.
25th September2024
We have a choice of speaking titles tonight: A Night at the Movies or Kids and Animals. This is a great chance for you to be creatives as you can interpret these titles in any way you wish.
9th October 2024
Tonight Anna will be presenting a 10 minute speech to the title ‘Festivals’. We are also hosting a travel segment which we call ‘Pass the Passport’ during which members regale us with tales of their travel highlights.
23rd October 2024
Tonight we are planning an open night with lots of visitors from the community and other Forums. This evening will have an Academy Awards theme and will be a lot of fun.
13th November 2024
Tonight is our Biannual General Meeting (BGM). This is the perfect opportunity for everyone (members & visitors alike) to learn how to run an effective meeting. Following on from the BGM, we will have an entertaining segment titled ‘Icons of the Silver Screen‘.
27th November 2024
We have two speech titles tonight: Recycling Christmas and Just What I Always Wanted. All members are invited to speak to either of these titles.
4th December 2024
This is our final get together for the year, so instead of a General Meeting we will be having a Festive Dinner. Visitors are encourage to join us and get to know our members. Please contact us for details.

Speeches to the title Holiday Adventures will be featured tonight and we look forward to hearing everyone’s tales of their festive escapades. A learning segment will also be included on tonight’s program.
